Well hello again! I didn't think that I would be writing again this soon, but I had some cancellations today that was going to take up my whole day so I decided to write another blog and add some pictures this time! A lot of these pictures are going to be of drunken nights over at Eric and Aubrees house, and also they will be of my new girlfriend and I as well. Her name is Jessica and I have known her for about 7 years now. She actually dated my best friend Stephen (yes Applebee's Stephen) for a long time in high school, so I knew her pretty well then and we remained in contact since then, and just this summer when I moved back home realized she was still in town, we hung out a couple times, everything clicked and now we are finally together! She still gives me crap that it only took me 7 years to ask her out, and I just tell her better late than never! Ha so here are some pictures of some fun times! More to come later!!

First Things First!

Well hello out there!! I hope that you all enjoy this first, and MY first blogging attempt, so bear with me. I have always wanted to create a blogging site, I have always liked to write, but was always afraid to do it because I'm sure no one wants to read what I have to say! But for my job I started to blog as well as some of my ambassadors, so I figured why not?? It also allows my auntie Pammy to keep tabs on me because she is on this site as well!
So here it goes, a little bit about me for all of you who have no clue who I am! First off my name is Brock Baseggio, I am 23 years old (I always want to say 22 for some reason still), have lived on my parents family farm for the majority of my life, and wouldn't change that for anything! The exception was when I went away for college and for about 6 months after college. I first went to college at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO, I played baseball there for 2 years, was hurt the majority of the time. I was never hurt in high school, well I shouldn't say that, I did get hurt but nothing to the extent to keep me out, but when I got to college it was a totally different ball game, practices every morning at 6 AM, then practices again in the afternoon for 4-5 hours, two days worth of practices at college was like an entire week of practice in high school! Long story short I ended my collegiate career by having shoulder surgery and with a quad that is nicely torn with three big bumps, or remains of my muscle that I have left! Not to mention that I am still battling elbow problems, and will find out in a few weeks if I have to have reconstructive elbow surgery, wish me luck!
Moving on from that sob story, after NJC I attended UNC, no not the great University of North Carolina, the other great UNC, the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. It was probably one of the greatest choices I have made in my life to go there. They have one of the best undergrad business programs in the country, so I got a very good education and the relationships that I built will last me a lifetime. I had so much fun while I was at Greeley, the times I remember anyway, and I'm sure that the moments I don't remember were just as fun!
After I graduated from UNC, I thought that getting involved in the insurance business would be a great thing to do, I mean do you see how much money those guys make? Everything you see is definitely sugar coated, it only took me a few short months to realize that their life isn't all it is cracked up to be, early mornings, meeting with potential clients all day, meetings, go home and get a quick bite to eat, then on to the night meetings with potential clients, and on top of all of that learning hundreds of pages of scripts. Talk about having NO LIFE!! With me being in a new town for all of this, and being right out of college, and also the economy being in the shape that it is right now, what person in their right mind is going to trust their money with some punk kid right out of college who "doesn't know anything?" So after 5 months in the business I was looking for a way out as soon as I could get out. I had a couple interviews with companies that my buddies worked out, got job offers from every single one of them, and while I was trying to decide which company I wanted to work for I got approached by the president of NJC at my brothers high school graduation about a spot open at the college...
And that brings us into the today, I turned down all of the jobs I had offered to me in the Denver area and came back home to good ol' Sterling Colorado. My official title is "Coordinator of High School Relations", what in the hell does that mean? Good question and 4 months into my job I am finally starting to figure all of that out! What it boils down to is that I am a recruiter for the college, my territory is the western slope of the state of Colorado, so I definitely have the beautiful part of the state, and also the snowiest part of the state to cover. All of September I was all over in the mountains, beautiful, beautiful views up there, trees were turning, looking at the breathtaking views through the mountains, it was amazing. Don't worry, pictures will come very shortly! So along with visiting high schools, doing presentations about how to pick the right college with a little bit of why you should come to NJC, I also am the guy who sets up all of the visits when high school kids and their parents want to come visit the college! Last week alone I had 14 kids come visit, and keep in mind I wasn't not here one of those days, so I stay very busy at work! Besides that I also get to let my creative mind work, I have created postcards for the school, the admissions department specifically, I have created T-shirts, folders, checklists, our clubs and organizations sheets, and a lot more. I am in charge of the Ambassador team as well, for those of you who don't know what ambassadors are, they are pretty much the student leaders of the school, the kids who when available give tours to the high school kids, help out at school events, put on our discovery days (days when groups of 200-300 kids come visit campus), and also dances, do concession stands when it is our turn, so lucky me I fell into a great group of students who have made my first year very easy for me! So not only do I get to pretty much get to be in charge of 19 of my ambassadors, who I get along with all of them, everyone in my office is great, we all get along so well which has made coming to work here even easier! My boss and I dominated by females in our office, 7-2, but since both of us watch "The Office" and are huge fans of the show we can definitely have our own fun and have some "guys talk".
Well this is probably good enough for now, don't worry there will be more to follow, and when I get back to my own computer there will be many pictures to follow as well! There is so much more to tell!!
Thanks for reading
